Long overdue update
It's almost a year ago since I started this blog and haven't posted a thing!!! I am not the best blogger. We are busy getting ready for Cyrus' Bar-Mitzvah which is May 8, 2010. Cyrus had a fun football season and has now moved on to basketball. He is on two teams right now (yes that is insane) he is still playing guitar and overall just a good kid! Tori is on swim team--she started last March and has moved up to silver and LOVES it. I think this is the first sport Tori has done that she just can't get enough of. Tori is also still taking art lessons (her second favorite thing), drums and is the president of her school this year. Tori just turned 11 and she is having a great year--a happy kid! Ari played flag football and now is playing basketball. He is also part of a Shakespeare program this year for kids ages 9-18 (he snuck in a little early) He plays guitar too (got to follow that big brother) loves to study the stars and planets (yup! just like his dad) I had the joy of turning 45 this year and my husband through me a surprise party--what a surprise it was!!!! Dave is up for tenure this year and by the spring we will know where our destiny takes us--will we stay here in Logan, UT or will we be moving on to bigger and better places--let's hope for the staying here :o) Keep your eye on our blog to find out.... Hope you are all well and enjoying the beautiful fall season! Lots of love from the Geller's

The New Year has begun
Well 2009 has arrived. We have had many adventures over the past year. Here is a short summary for you. Last January, Debbie decided to go back to school. It has been an adjustment for all of us but she is taking it slow and remembering to keep her priorities straight meaning family first. Dave remained busy over the past year continuing his research and teaching and his tenure track. Cyrus played basketball, baseball and football. He was the school president for his school last year, plays guitar and snowboards. He continues to have a passion for all sports especially the Longhorns--he not only watches but studies the players and their stats. Tori was on an all-star cheer team last year. She spent a lot of time being committed to her team. They had several competitions and they went to Nationals in LA. Tori plays drums, sings with the honor choir at her school, snowboards and has a passion for art. Ari played flag football, baseball, basketball, guitar and piano. He likes to follow his brother in his passion for sports. As a family, we did a bit of traveling last year. We went to the Tetons, Yellowstone and Jackson Hole with Dave's sister Karen and her family for our yearly Kaneller vacation (that is Kanefsky and Geller combined :-), we went to a WorldFest in Grass Valley, CA where we met up with some friends and had a great time. We met Deb's brother and his family in Lake Tahoe to spend a few days on our way back from Grass Valley. We followed Dave to a conference in Hawaii where we spent a week in Maui and then a week in Honolulu. We ended our year fulfilling a dream of Cyrus' to go to a Longhorn game at Memorial Stadium--before the game we spent time in Houston with friends, then after the game we spent time in San Antonio. It was an eventful year. What does 2009 have in store for us? I guess you will have to follow our blog to find out and I guess we will have to be sure to keep it up! Our family wishes you and yours a very happy and healthy new year.
